How to wake up naturally – without an alarm!

There are two types of mornings:

The first one is when you fell in deep sleep after a long tiring day at work then all of a sudden you wake up to the loud sound of your alarm clock ringing. On those mornings, you would feel unenergized to get ready for the day, wishing you could go back to bed.

The other mornings are when you naturally wake up a few minutes before your alarm goes off. On those mornings, you start the day feeling well-rested and alert.

You can actually train yourself to wake up naturally – without the interruption of an alarm sound! Mimpi knows how to do it and will share it here for you!

1. Create a consistent rhythm

Create a sleep schedule from day to day. Going to bed and waking up at the same time may sound too easy to be true, but that’s the only way to create a consistent rhythm.

First, you have to figure out how much sleep you need – 7-9 hours per night is recommended. And aim to get bed early enough so you wake up feeling refreshed.

Stick to the consistent schedule every day, including in your days off. However, this won’t work when you feel extremely exhausted. If that happens, sleep EARLIER than the schedule.

2. Start a great bedtime routine

Try doing something relaxing before bed, such as:

  • taking a warm bath
  • reading
  • meditating
  • stretching
  • using aromatherapy
  • listening to calming music

While avoiding activities that have been shown to interfere with your circadian rhythm, such as:

  • drinking caffeinated beverages before bedtime
  • looking at screens – laptop, phone, PC, etc
  • napping or spending too much time in bed during the day
  • drinking alcohol before bedtime

3. Live healthier

This may sound cliché but, eating a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly is the fundamental way to helps you sleep better.

Foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and high in omega-3 fatty acids are your best friend!

While exercise has been proven to improve sleep and conditions that can cause insomnia and excessive sleepiness, such as anxiety and depression.

4. Wake up “instantly”

After succeeding waking up naturally, now is the time for waking up “instantly”, this is how:

  • Shock your body by splashing your face with cold water
  • Go for an early walk with fresh air
  • Do some stretching moves
